VolunteersThe heart of Twin Rocks Friends Camp
Summer Camp Volunteers. If you are interested in being a counselor or leader at one of our youth camps in the summer, please fill out our online Volunteer Counselor or Staff Application. Behind-the-Scenes Volunteers. If you are interested in helping in a operations and support staff role such as in the kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping, office, etc.. please download and fill out the online Volunteer Support Staff Application. If you have any questions, please contact Hannah Frankcamp, Guest Services Director. It's important to us that you have a good volunteer experience, so we need to discuss your schedule, meals, housing, tasks, etc.. prior to your arrival. The rest of this document refers to "Behind-the-Scenes" volunteers. Please consider what "gift of time" you can give to Twin Rocks. You will benefit eternally, but in a more immediate way, Twin Rocks Friends Camp can help in the following ways: Housing: Volunteers are housed in their own recreational vehicles (RVs), in Volunteer Apartments, or in camper housing. Twin Rocks has several full RV hookups, and two Volunteer Apartments. Short-term volunteers often stay in camp cabins or in the motel-style Pacific Woods Lodge. Food: Delicious meals are available to volunteers when the kitchen is preparing meals for groups at the main camp. This is a highlight for our volunteers, where all of our staff (full- and part-time) have opportunity for daily fellowship in the staff dining room. Projects for individuals, couples, and small groups: We are looking for people who are willing to come and stay a few days, a week, or more, and work alongside our year-round staff with repair and maintenance, deep cleaning, office assistance and maybe quick "turnovers" in housekeeping. We can adjust to meet your needs and interests. The camp has been privileged to have several volunteers stay at Twin Rocks for several months (and sometimes years) at a time. Projects for larger groups: We are also looking for larger groups (youth groups, men's, women's, etc) to help out with landscaping, painting, small construction projects, clearing trails, yard work, wood splitting, beach cleanup, etc. We are often able to provide food and housing at no charge to volunteer groups who would like to come either on weekends or midweek. Our goal is to provide time for retreating as well as time for volunteer service. Please give us a call to talk about your availability, and please fill out our Twin Rocks Volunteer Application. We look forward to ministering with you at Twin Rocks Friends Camp.
