Theme: Connected to Creation – Ecological studies of the Pacific Northwest
Ecology is the study of the relationships of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings. Discover some of the amazing ways God’s creatures and creations work in harmony with one another, and how humans can best care for our amazing world.
This fall, join us for one of two weeks of getting connected to creation, as we discover some of the incredible animals, plants, and ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest through hands-on lessons and outdoor experiences for students (and parents) of all ages. Outdoor school for homeschool families is an opportunity for the family to laugh, learn, and explore God’s incredible creation together. The week includes engaging classes, evening worship, and a variety of classic camp activities like boating, archery, and arts and crafts.
A word to parents: Camp isn’t just for kids! During the week you will be encouraged during a daily, kid-free, parent workshop. There will also be evenings set aside for moms and dads to gather together to fellowship after the kids have gone to bed.
Standards-based lessons with a wide range of topics capture the curiosity of students and adults alike. Throughout each week will be opportunities to go boating and hiking, practice archery, sing silly songs, play on the beach, worship together, and make new friends. These unique camp programs offer experiences for the entire family to enjoy with classes for students K-12 that incorporate parent involvement, as well as break-out sessions just for parents and just for kids. Outdoor school at Twin Rocks Friends Camp offers homeschool students and their families opportunities to venture into nature through a mix of interactive lessons and outdoor experiences. Explore God’s creation through the study of science in ways that are both engaging and age-appropriate.
Housing & Meals:
Your registration includes all program expenses and excellent food and housing provided by Twin Rocks Friends Camp. If you register an entire family then we’ll put your family in your own cabin or dormitory-style room. Rooms are filled in order of registration, with cabins filled first, and dormitory rooms last. While uncommon, exceptions are occasionally made based on family and room sizes. Register early for a greater chance of being placed in a cabin. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags and/or linens.
- Your family must have at least one student between 5-18 years old to register.
- This year we are requiring that at least one parent attend with their children. Alternatively, parents may choose to send their children with another trusted adult (grandparents, or another family). To do this an additional form needs to be filled out. For more information about this option, please contact Twin Rocks Friends Camp at: 503-355-2284 to register your child and receive a copy of this consent form.
