Purpose for the Position

The Marketing Coordinator helps keep campers and staff coming to Twin Rocks by effectively communicating the benefits of camp to prospective campers, guest groups, and employees. The Marketing Coordinator accomplishes this through close collaboration with Twin Rocks’ Guest Services, Program and Human Resource departments, helping them promote Twin Rocks in a clear, consistent, and professional manner.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and carrying out Twin Rocks’ marketing strategy in cooperation with the camp’s leadership and with appropriate collaboration with the Guest Services, Program, and Human Resource departments of Twin Rocks. The marketing strategy will include target goals for acquiring new campers, guest groups, and staff members.
  • Assist in implementing a consistent brand image across the spectrum of Twin Rocks’ communications.
  • Ensure an excellent, well-maintained website and in accord with industry best practices.
  • Ensure positive user experience for online registration.
  • Assist in producing and distributing deliverables in carrying out the marketing strategy in all channels:
    • Email marketing/communications
    • Direct Mail
    • Search and social advertising
    • Social media
    • Mass advertising: Print display, radio, television, outdoor
  • Ensure on-going photo library stocked with up-to-date, compelling images.
  • Represent Twin Rocks to the public, as needed.
  • Ensure professional display information, banners, etc. are available for promotions.
  • Work effectively with outsourced professionals to accomplish the marketing strategy.
  • Work within approved budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Attitude of service and a commitment to Twin Rocks Friends Camp and its ministry.
  • Strong general skills in marketing strategy and planning.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage content creation across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Strong ability to proof, edit, and complete high quality work product.
  • Ability to write compelling copy for a wide variety of channels and audiences.
  • Possess sufficient graphic arts knowledge to create desktop publications, direct the artwork of outsourced vendors or staff, and insure a coherent and consistent brand image.
  • Experience in utilizing best practices for effective social media communications.
  • Strong skills with Adobe CS, web CMS (ie WordPress), MS Office, and project management software.
  • Basic understanding of photography and video communications.
  • High aptitude for learning, utilizing new technologies, and developing new skills.
  • Possess an evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the organization’s goals, including a signed agreement with Twin Rocks statement of faith and lifestyle expectations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or considerable experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity and involvement with evangelical Friends Church and/or Twin Rocks Friends Camp preferred.
  • Maintain a viable, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and exemplify that relationship in daily life.

Environmental Conditions & Physical Demands

This position involves travel and requires driving oneself regularly to Portland and/or the Oregon Coast. Working remotely is acceptable if the employee resides within a 2-hour drive of the Oregon Coast and of Portland.

Language Development

Able to communicate clearly – verbally and in writing – in English with staff, guests, vendors, and volunteers. Proficiency in other languages helpful.

Specific Vocational Preparation

  • Administration, office skills, computer, and other management preparations are necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree or considerable experience strongly preferred.

Compensation

This is a full-time, year-round position, eligible for the coordinator-level benefit package as outlined in Twin Rocks’ Employee Handbook.  Among other things, this includes salary, 401(k) retirement fund, and paid vacation/holiday/sick time. The person in this position works 40 hours/week.

Probationary Period

Positions at Twin Rocks Friends Camp are subject to a six-month probationary period.
