Come Grow With Us!

Grow Through Serving Others

Being a part of Summer Staff means working hard. Summer Staff rotate regularly between various work assignments, such as washing dishes, preparing meals, working grounds, and cleaning cabins. Some staff participate by working in specialized areas like lifeguarding, archery instruction, or in the camp store. Whatever the task, Summer Staff members work together toward the common goal of developing a servant’s heart. (Philippians 2:5-11)

Grow Through Camp Counseling

One of the Summer Staff team member’s most important roles is that of camp counselor. TRFC Summer Staff often counsel several Friends youth camps for grade school through high school age campers. During counseling weeks, Summer Staff team members are challenged with the opportunity to love young people and impact them for Christ through both their actions and their words. These weeks are often the most stretching and the most fulfilling weeks of the summer! (Luke 9:48)

Grow Through Community

For many Summer Staff, the highlight of the summer experience is being a part of the close-knit camp community. Summer Staff live in hotel-style Pacific Woods Lodge. Team members work together, worship together, and play together as they invest an entire summer focused on growing in Christ. Fun activities (such as hikes, initiative games, and weekend retreats) and spiritual growth activities (morning prayer, daily devotions, worship, and small groups) help develop the Summer Staff into an intimate, Christ-centered community. Incredible memories, deep friendships, and lasting spiritual growth are the results. (Ephesians 2:21-22)
