Outdoor School for Homeschool Families
Outdoor School for Homeschool families is on for 2020!
A Christ-centered family camp with a focus on science and environmental education. For homeschool families with students in kindergarten through 12th grades in fall 2020.
We are very happy to be able to continue to offer this Outdoor School in 2020. As you might imagine, there will be a number of changes from previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most significantly, all activities will be tailored to your family group. If you choose, you may join with other families in a cohort of up to 10 total people for the week and do your activities together. Each cohort will remain physically distant from other cohorts throughout the program. For more information on health and safety measures this year, see our Health and Safety in 2020 page.
2020 Dates: 9/21-25/2020
Join us this fall as we explore the wonders of the nature in the Pacific Northwest! Discover more about the creatures of the Pacific Ocean, from the smallest plankton to the biggest whales, and the ocean they call home. Explore the local tide pools and get sandy during classes on the beach. Students will engage in hands-on, outdoor experiences in a variety of coastal ecosystems. Each class is uniquely created to engage students (and parents) of all ages, as they showcase God’s amazing creation!
Families will have the opportunity to laugh, learn, and explore together during their week at camp. This week-long, overnight program offers engaging opportunities for learning as well as a variety of classic camp activities such as boating, archery, and arts and crafts.
Outdoor school offers homeschool students and their families opportunities to explore God’s creation through a variety of interactive lessons and outdoor adventures. This unique camp program offers experiences for the entire family to enjoy, with age-appropriate classes designed for students K-12, parent sessions, and plenty of traditional camp activities for families to experience throughout the day.
At Twin Rocks Friends Camp’s outdoor school for homeschool families there is always something new to explore, as we discover God’s creation through science. Students and parents will learn side-by-side from experts and specialists in an array of scientific and environmental fields.
Throughout each week families will also have the chance to have a classic camp experience outside of the classroom, with many fun activities to choose from. The camp has plenty to do and see throughout the week, giving families the chance explore the lake by boat, hike Charlotte’s Mountain, play on the beach, create a keepsake in Arts and Crafts, putt a round of Mini Golf, and much more every day of outdoor school. Twin Rocks outdoor school traditions like scriggleboggle (a Twin Rocks favorite) and scavenger hunts are also available throughout the week.
